Sibling Strength

Family is known to be the smallest unit of society. In a Filipino household, it is important to maintain tighter familial ties alongside gratitude that extends to three generations or more. On this episode of the podcast, Joyce and Victor will let you into their lives as they talk about “tough love, tough together” mantra, and how they criticize and support each other.

How to resolve problems/issues in the family?

● Take things lightly play, and have fun with your sibs, always bond over food and games! It’s easier to resolve things over food and not hangry minds! This might be a simple gesture but could be a big thing. (VP)

● Remember the value of family. In anything, we have to build healthy relationships with our brothers and sisters. Always remember that our family members have their best interests at heart. And forming a habit of rooting everything we do with love for them as well. (JP)

How to handle criticism?

● Criticism can fuel you. Take it to be more aligned with your goals and push you to your full potential. Appreciate and acknowledge the things that help you become better. (VP)

● Never took any negative thing seriously. It’s okay to feel hurt, but it should not define who you are. Redirect the negativity into something that you know will glorify God. (JP)

● When people say something bad about you, it is not a reflection of who you are. It’s a reflection of who they are. What you can do is show them kindness, and be kinder to yourself. How you react to these bad things is what is more important.

How to stay motivated (especially in the workplace)?

● Respect others, and respect yourself. Not only in being punctual or people’s time but to your own potential, not doing your best is disrespectful to your goals.

● Be Faithful and Loyal. And in return people are also loyal to us, we work with the same team and see their potential too.

● Be professional in whatever you do and with whoever you are working with, professionality is something you can build your character on.

● Give your all in everything you do, whether or not it is seen by others, or you will be rewarded, remember that there’s a God who sees you and will bless you.
