How to balance motherhood and career

1) Define your priorities

Clarify your values and identify the aspects of motherhood and your career that are most important to you. This will help you make decisions and allocate your time and energy accordingly.

2) Set boundaries

Set boundaries between work and family life to create dedicated time for both. This may involve setting specific working hours, creating no-work zones or times, and being disciplined about work-related interruptions during family time.

3) Delegate and ask for help

Don't hesitate to ask for help and delegate tasks when needed. Lean on your partner, family members, or trusted caregivers for support. Shared responsibilities allow you to focus on both your career and your role as a mother.

4) Be present and mindful

When you are with your children, be fully present and engaged to make the most of your time together. Limit distractions like phone calls, emails, and social media. Similarly, while at work, give your full attention to your tasks and responsibilities.

5) Redefine success

Remember that everyone's journey is unique, and there is no one-size-fits-all definition of success. Define your own version of success that aligns with your values and priorities, rather than comparing yourself to others. Celebrate small victories and milestones along the way.

Advice for late 20s that has no savings because of a lot of responsibilities

Assess and prioritize your expenses: Take a careful look at your expenses and identify areas where you can cut back or make adjustments. Create a budget that aligns with your income and prioritize essential expenses like housing, utilities, food, and transportation, while reducing discretionary spending.

Start saving: Make saving a priority, even if it's a small amount at first. Set up automatic transfers from your paycheck to a separate savings account to ensure consistent contributions. Gradually increase the amount you save as you become more financially stable.

Redefine your responsibilities: Take a step back and evaluate your current responsibilities. Are there any that can be adjusted or shared with others to alleviate some of the financial burdens? It might be beneficial to have open and honest conversations with family members or significant others about redefining shared responsibilities.

Tips in enjoying your own company and navigating singlehood?

Discover your interests and passions: Use this time to explore your interests and discover what brings you happiness. Engage in new activities, join clubs or groups that align with your interests, and challenge yourself to step out of your comfort zone. This self-discovery process can lead to personal growth and a deeper understanding of yourself.

Have a positive mindset: Embrace your singlehood as an opportunity for personal growth and self-reflection. Focus on the positive aspects of being single, such as the freedom to explore, learn, and invest in yourself. Cultivating a positive mindset will help you appreciate and enjoy this phase of your life.

Celebrate independence: Embrace the freedom and independence that comes with singlehood. Use this time to make decisions solely based on your own desires and needs. Celebrate your independence by treating yourself to experiences, travel, or by accomplishing personal goals.

To deal with burnout, look for something to do on the side that is not connected to work. Have a little escape of your own.
