Tips to Stay Motivated!

Is motivation really a fleeting thing like passion? How does it differ from a goal or a purpose? Here’s a catch-up episode with the one and only Aaron Atayde talking about being motivated and the lessons learned from last year that have to be carried this year.

What Is Motivation Really Like?

People tend to use motivation and passion interchangeably. Many would say that motivation is a fleeting thing, like passion, an emotion-driven force that pushes a person to do something. Like positive reinforcement, motivation can be a piece of chocolate after drinking vitamins, like Joyce shared, for there is something to look forward to.

Self-motivation is the lie you tell yourself that works. It is what you tell yourself as a reason to do something. This motivation can be thought of when it comes to all the different facets of life. An example could be going to school in order to get a job after graduating. It can be that way instead of wanting good grades, for it varies for every person. Hence, it is something we use, to better ourselves. It is not necessarily a goal, but it can be seen as a short-term goal to pursue the long-term goal. (AA)

Motivation is what gets you up to date, while your long-term goal is what gets you up every day.

Moving On From Previous Motivations

Moreover, motivation is looking at the kind of tradeoff or the short-term pleasure that is leading towards a long-term goal. After achieving the long-term goals, we start to look for more motivation because we have reached that end and yearn for another end. With that, a person must keep evolving and the dreams that need to be dreamt up should give birth to more goals in the future. And from the past motivations, things get clearer by the assessment of what’s important in life. (AA)

Reassessing one’s motivations is also vital through its imparting a sense of purpose. By looking back, motivation can be seen as something that is driven a lot by action. Most people believe that it is just a feeling, but in reality, motivation is action. It is deciding on doing something for the sake of another thing. (JP)

If it was rougher for you, that doesn’t mean is wasn’t as rough for others.

Staying Motivated!

If you are searching for motivation, acting towards that goal, and sees someone that is progressing while seeing yourself being not there yet, it’s completely fine. Do not rush it, it will come, just relax. Do not wear yourself out by pushing too much to get results immediately.

These needed actions on your side will make it happen, it is not also sitting around and waiting for things to happen. You need to get out of your comfort zone and be better, or else you will be stuck there. (AA)

Take time to realize learning what you are capable and not capable of. And with the realizations of what you are capable of, it is now the time to decide to be more taking into consideration that you have encountered horrifying experiences but were still able to survive from it and even thrive through it. Hence, motivation is having the proclivity for action. It is not waiting for the feeling of motivation to come but to be motivated enough to start doing it. (JP)

Not all trees grow at the same rate, but you have to be able to water your tree to make sure that it is healthy enough to grow.

Situational Motivation

Considering the year 2020, it might be the worst for some people, but for some, it can also be their best. This is through the idea that not everyone experiences the same things. Others have their resources while others do not. The year 2020 has given worries, anxieties, and uncertainties to many, but for many others, it paved a way for them to reevaluate their lives and rethink what their purpose in life might be. (JP)

When you deal with adversity, your character comes in. Did it make you a better person or are you defeated by it? Therefore, being motivated and looking at different situations from a different perspective is up to us. It will still be us who have control over our lives and it is our responsibility to look with our eyes and see the world the way we want to see it. (AA)
