1) Relationships are never perfect because human beings are not

We are disappointed by certain expectations and that’s what makes it hard. A lot of problem might arise when you start living under one roof. You’ll start seeing differences such as how you deal with problems. But remember, commonality is not compatibility. Sometimes, even though you do not have a lot of things in common, it doesn’t mean you are not compatible. Relationships will never be perfect. You will never find the perfect person to be in a relationship with but the person you are with, in that relationship now, will be the right person if you choose that person to be the right one. Keep working hard to make the relationship to work. Keep adjusting and loving the person for everything that you are compatible with and with you are not. Understanding and sacrifices is truly the best way to go in a relationship. Also, do not expect the person that you’re in that relationship with to fulfill your happiness and to fill the gaps and holes in your heart. Only God can give you completeness and joy.

2) The person you should be with is the person who loves the real you

Be with someone who actually loves the real you, all the strengths, weaknesses, quirks and boring parts. If you are with someone who only likes you because of the image that you project to them, you’ll get tired and you’re just fooling that person. It’s hard being a superhero having double identities. And, you do not have to pretend just to please the other person. You have to be true to yourself. Being honest will give you power. Having the courage to be who you are gives you the liberty to do so many other things. Start praying about it and just sit down with your partner. Then, slowly walk them through who you really are and what you want to achieve.

3) Teamwork makes the dream work

Try to encourage one another to walk towards the same goal. Define your roles in your relationship and agree on them. Find that person that will push you to be the best version of who you are. Find a partner that will help you grow and learn from them every day.

Always keep God at the center of your relationship. When disagreements come up, the only standard you should think about is what God’s Word says instead of the personal interests and problems you two are dealing with. Through this, it encourages the both of you to mature more. Also, don’t wait for the right person to come! Pray for it. Just open yourself up to loving and knowing other people. Focus on God and focus on yourself. The right person at the right time will come.
