Why Rejection is Redirection

“WHY REJECTION IS REDIRECTION – IN LOVE AND LIFE!” EP. 34 SHOW NOTES FROM THE PODCAST:

They say that Rejection is Redirection – as some of us have experienced, when your special someone says “I need space” it can be one form of breakup and rejection; but sometimes, it can also be the start of the best redirection you never thought you needed! Joyce tackle it down with the cast of Kwentong Jollibee’s “SPACE” as they talk about life, love and that infamous line – “I need space”.

Does "asking for space" mean "break-up"?

○ Space can be good or bad. Sometimes, it can be “soft-breakup”. It depends on the relationship. If your relationship is strong enough to withstand that space, then probably it’s good for the two of you and will help you really grow, but there are some that can’t handle that and would rather break up.

○ There are circumstances that our minds are just stressed and overwhelmed. We need to allot more time to recover or think about things before deciding. It’s hard to decide when you’re on the heights of your emotions.

How long should you give space in a relationship?

It depends on the agreement of both parties. Both should agree on common grounds like the terms on what their set up will be.

What to do when you fight over small things?

No matter how long you’ve been together, you’ll end up fighting over smallest of things because you are two different people. But at the end of the day, you have to work it up and talk about it.

How do you know when you’re with the ONE?

○ That eventhough you’ve seen your partner’s flaws and imperfections, you still love them for who they are. You still love them wholly.

You constantly choose the person you chose. Everybody goes through changes and the only time that that person becomes the one is when you decide it to be. Love is a sacrifice and a choice. It’s not just a feeling that comes and goes. It conquers even the smallest of things and the biggest of changes.

How do you accept your partner for the past things that he/she has done?

○ Always remind yourself why you chose to love that person in the first place. You have to realize that you also have flaws just like your partner.

○ You can’t really judge a person from their past. People constantly change. You can never assume that what he/she did before will be repeated on you.

Key Takeaways

○ Rejection is Redirection. Heart break can lead to something better. Sometimes, we just need to figure out what we really want so we will not regret our decisions.

○ Strive for contentment. Nowadays, it’s so easy to find someone better on social media or on other dating apps. But, you should focus on your partner and his/her better characteristics rather than searching for someone else.

○ Choose the people who choose you. But at the same time, also choose yourself. Choose what will make you happy.
